I have some how eliminated the abiliyt to open most of the Microsoft programs
such as Word , Access, Exxcel, & soforth. The Icons are there but when I
click on them I get the message Windows cannot open this file. File: Windows
Word.lnk
To open this file Windows needs to know what program created it. Windows can
go online to look for it, or you can manually select from a list on your
computer.
Now I have tried every program on that list and none of them will work.
I'm sure this is an easy fix for some one who is very computer savy however I
know just enough to be dangerous. So if anyone can help I would really
appreciate the input. Please post very detailed instructions..

Thank you

You are not suppose to open .dll files. These files are used by the operating
system and by various programs.

See this Microsoft Article for your problem:
