Distribution List problems

I created a list of new contacts in MS Outlook by importing a CSV file into
a new contacts folder. I then tried to create a distribution list with
these contacts.
I went to File-New-Distribution List-Select Members-Show names from the: &
selected the new contact folder I had created-Members->
When I try to add members, the first one I select gives a "." and the rest
give a ";". No distribution list is created.
Any idea what is wrong or what I am doing that is wrong.
