distorted sound

Hi, I am wondering if anyone can help me. My sound has
been fine for ages, playing mp3s and stuff has been ok.
But just recently any sound i play has a really annoying
echo and the vocals are very quiet. It happens even when
I play something through the line in, so it must be
something to do with my soundcard. Trouble shoot is
rubbish and didn't help me at all. Has anyone had the
same problem? Regards, Sam
 
Hi,

Have a look in control panel, Audio settings.
You may have the EAX setting enabled. Turn it off.
