displaying entering the pound curency in an Email comes up as #

When completing an Email in office 2003, I have included the £ sign on the
M/S keyboard in front of a total ie £ 50.00 and it comes up as #50.00 the £
sign works every where else except on an "E"
Any avice most welcome many thanks.Regards

You might check the encoding you're using for your email messages.

I seem to have found the problem in the Tools/options/mail format/
International options/ scrol to Western European (Windows) check auto
encoding of outgoing messages.
