why is the date coming up as a

im jz so frustrated and pressed for time... someone please tell me y i cant
get the stinkin date to come out as i input it? 03/14/08... i want it that
way, and i typed it in just like so... but it turns to a stinkin pound # sign
as soon as i try movin on... help me!!!! arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

If you mean a hash (#) and not a pound (£) sign then widening the column
should cure your problem.

Choose Format, Cells, Number tab, Custom and on the Type line enter MM/DD/YYYY

Dear, I am sure you know what I say now,
select the cell (or cells) you want to enter the date, Right click >>go to
format cells.>>number >>date. Now select the >>>location English(United
states) & now select the date form you wanted. The form 03/14/01 is 5th from
top. Hope it should work for you. Also increase your column width to fit in
