The general folders tasks panel won't move from my
screen, taking up about a third of it. It has just
appeared and planted itself there, and no amount of
searching finds any way to manipulate or move it. It
doesn't respond to right-clicking or anything.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
 
what do you mean by general folders task panel? to my knowledge there is no
such thing.
 
I'm also not sure what you are saying but this may be the problem.

Go to display properties>desktop>customize desktop>web. If you see a check
mark for Lock desktop then uncheck it. Same for My Current Home Page.
