Display Settings Messed Up

Everyone,

In my office, I have one XP machine that is shared by two people i.e. there
is one desktop, and two sets of monitors, keyboards, etc. Both individuals
see the same screen on their individual monitors when any one person logs on.

Someone in our office was playing around with the display settings and
changed the original setting. Now, the monitors are on the standard split
display i.e. now one screen is the primary and the other secondary.

I have tried multiple things to fix this including making only one monitor
the primary, changing the display to multiple monitors, resetting the cables
and restarting the machine. However, nothing has worked.

If anyone has any experience with something similar, I'd appreciate any help
that you can provide.

Thank you,
AH_VA

If System Restore was set on, your fastest solution may be to
reboot to a date before these changes were made.

Apparently you mean one computer, two monitors, keyboards, mice.
Probably connected with a KVM switch, right? The PC can be
controlled/viewed by either but not both parties?
Unless I misunderstand something, this part won't be relevent but
it's good you provided the information.
Someone in our office was playing around with the display settings and
changed the original setting. Now, the monitors are on the standard
split display i.e. now one screen is the primary and the other
secondary.
Someone then needs an official reprimand and to be somehow dinged for
the extra work they caused. Unauthorized activity on a machine is
reason for termination in some companies. You might want to have
someone look into your policies on this.

Re-image from backup? Restore from backup? Or, just set the video card
mode to "CLONE" so each monitor will see the same thing. Just like
doing a TV setup, except you're doing two monitors instead.
I have tried multiple things to fix this including making only one
monitor the primary, changing the display to multiple monitors,
resetting the cables and restarting the machine. However, nothing
has worked.
There should have been a CLONE mode, right? I think that's what you
want. It means everything on the main monitor (1) is sent to the second
monitor (2).
If anyone has any experience with something similar, I'd appreciate
any help that you can provide.

Thank you,

According ot my experience here: If you want both montors to have the
exact same displays, you need CLONE mode set in your video card
settings. If it has different names, I'm not aware of it. I'm using an
NVidia video card. Some cards you have to enter the Advanced area to
set it.
I think someone needs their knuckles firmly rapped.

If this isn't the answer you needed, you'll have to clarify what you
have and what you want to do more closely.
