My display resolution is stuck on 800 x 640 pixels. I
click on the balloon to correct the problem and nothing
happens. I go to the control panel, open display window,
click on settings tab, try to move the slider and it
won't move. I recently installed some windows downloads
and the problem started after that. The system will not
restore to a previous date.

What have I done wrong or what should I do now?

It sounds like you may not have the correct driver for your video
card. Did one of the downloads change the video driver?

Go to the website of your graphics manufacturer and see if there is a more
current driver to dowload and install.

That is often the solution.
