Display resolution

I have been using a licenced version of XP Pro for some time now, without
problem. Hardware is Asus P4P800 MB, 2 Gig memory, ATI Radeon 9600 video
card has the latest drivers. My problem is that in the last week, my
computer starts in 640x480 resolution, instead of the usual 600x800, which
it always has started in. I manually change the resolution from 640x480
back to 600x800, and Apply the changes, but the next time I start my
computer, XP uses the 640x480 resolution.

How do I stop Windows from going back to 640x480 during each startup?
