The settings in Display Properties/Screen Saver are not working, suddenly.

The screen background remains ON all the time, despite the waiting time for
screen saver of 5 minutes, and despite the Monitor Power settings of 15 and
20 minutes for monitor turn off and hard disk turn off, respectively.

I've programmed and reprogrammed several times the parameters, with reboot
in between, to no avail.

Please, what can this be?

You're probably running Windoze which suffers from bit rot. After using it
for awhile, it just starts to break down.

When Microsoft stops treating its customers as thieves, I might consider
running Windoze again. Of course, I wouldn't allow it to access the
Internet. Windoze has no place on the Internet.
