Is there a way to display the keyboard sequence (shortcut) assigned to a user
created macro?

Assuming a version before Word 2007 (don't know how to get to the right
place in that version), use Tools | Customize | Keyboard. Select Macros in
the category list, scroll down to the macro in question in the Commands
list, and note what shortcut is listed under "Current keys."

In 2007 it's Office button > Word Options > Customize tab > click on
"Keyboard shorcuts: Customize" then select Macros as for earlier versions.
