display chinese problem

Does anyone know why notepad of Win2000 server can't
display chinese characters but only rectangles even though
I applied multi-languae pack.

Do you have an appropriate font installed and selected in Notepad? Ariel
Unicode MS, which is bundled with some Microsoft products, is such a font,
but there are many other possible choices.
