Display Adapter for use with the P4S333?

Hi.

The P4S333 is a nice board, but it has a horrible problem: it can't
work practically any new graphics adapter, i.e.: cards at agp X8 that
are geforce4 or geforce 5200 or ATI 9500-9800. This is been discussed
heavily here:

http://www.abxzone.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54274

My question is: does ANYONE have a high-level graphics card that works
with this motherboard? perhaps a genuine ASUS display adapter? I
personally tried 2 Gainward cards (4 and 5200 fx), a Palit Daytona
card (and OLD, CHEAP 64-bit geforce4 card, that didn't work
either!!!), and a ST-Lab geforce 5200. Others tried ATI 9800 Pro, and
none of the worked.

They all had the same problem: no display at boot-up, after 5 minutes
the BIOS jumps up and asks you for the CPU speed, since you just
installed a new one. It has already been ruled out as a power supply
issue, this is the SIS 645's fault, or the BIOS fault.

Please post any WORKING cards as a reply.

Thanks.

BigO:

I'm running a ChainTech GF4_mx440<64> in a P4S333 <r1.02_BIOS1005C>. RedHat_8
native XF86 drivers push that card along just fine. It's a beefy 430W/2Gig P4
system. Don't know what might happen if I tried the compiled NVidia 3D
driver or ran an M$$$$ OS.

I'm running a Visiontek GeF4-Ti 4200 / 128mb coupled with a 2.0GHz /512mb of
RAM using Win2K/SP4 (at AGP 4x). Previous card was a GF3 Ti 200.

Not a hitch.

BIOS is actually the factory original from 2/2002, I think.

I don't think this qualifies as a high end graphics card but I used this MB
successfully with an ATI Radeon 7500. I used it with two displays and never
had any problems with it.
