help! My system conintuously loses diskspace until it
has to be rebooted.(hp Paviliaon 753n, 512MBrm, 2.53ghz,
533mhz fsb, 8gb disk, WInXP Pro all patches). When i
restart the system I have 18.6GB free but each day I lose
about 3GB or more. I have all updates installed, have
scanned for viruses using Panda and AVG and removed all
questionable, non-microsoft startup programs and
services. Neverhteless, I am unable to determine the
cause of the diskpace problem. Any Ideas?

I located trace.log though i'm unable to open it using either notepad of
word. its too big for notepad at around 4GB and its errors out in a
nondescriptive way, ie, 'serious file error encountered' when i open with
word. there are no other trace files found. next steps?

That's your problem! You ran bootvis. That is the trace.log that the program
produces. Go into bootvis and turn off tracing. Reboot. Delete the log file.
