Disk in CD Drive Not Recognized

Steve

I ejected a disk from my CD read drive during a copy and
now Windows no longer detects disks in the drive. The
system says the hardware, driver, etc. are OK but the busy
light never goes on when putting in a disk. No software
can find a disk in the drive. The second CD drive is OK.
Any help appreciated.

Shut down Windows, open a box and disconnect cables from C; then reconnect
them back.

Do you mean take off the cables from the hard drive?

Yes. reason is that sometimes a slight amount of oxidation on one of the
connecting pins is causing the problems.

Good luck.
