secondary disk not recognized

I just installed a new hard disk as a secondary disk (slave).
Installation was fine. The disk shows in the Device Manager. But it isn't
listed in My Computer.
My primary disk is partioned in C:,D:,and F:, Maxtor.
G: is DVD/CD-Rom drive
The slave drive is a WDC. It shows up in the Device Manager, and the driver
are the latest and working.
Both drives are IDE, no SCSI.
I tried uninstalling it, and restarting my Computer to install it again.
That didn't help.
This problem is described in the Windows 2000 Support site and it says I
needed a hotfix. But there's no link where I could download that dam fix.
I don't know what to do anymore.

In the Device Manager it says the hard disk is working properly. But it
doesn't show among the other drives.

Can anybody help me?

Well thats not going to solve it, you need to format the drive in Disk
Management, only then will it be visable
