disk driver not being recognised

I am getting an error message code 41 with my cd/rw driver.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. The driver is recognised but
the hardware can't be found.

Hi Luke,
Adding to Steve.a, try this; may be still alive,Unplug the cables of the
Interface and reset it back again,and try to n't render the motherboard
Useless by Harshly forcing the Ribbon Cable hard in the Socket for the CD-RW
or touch the Chips on the motherboard,(only the CD Interface to be handled).
Then power on and leave the Case open to listen to the noise from the CD-RW
interface and look for the Light,if evry thing seems right to you look in the
Event Viewer for Error belonging to the CD-RW S/H and write them back here.
