Disk Cleanup...

When I perform a "Disk Cleanup" ,under "properties" of my
c:/hardrive, it goes very slowly almost 5 to 10 minutes.
this time it has totally frozen up. It stops
under "Compress Files..." and goes no further, How do I
correct this problem. I would like to get rid of the "old
stuff" out of my HD with a "Disk Cleanup" but it comes to
a stand still. Need help please...

Deselect COMPRESS FILES, by UNchecking its box. Then try disk cleanup again.
