Disk Cleanup Files are Huge!

I run disk cleanup and I get 209,202 in the Compress Old Files box. Even if
I run it 5 minutes later it tells me that this file is the same size to
cleanup.

How does this happen? and How do I get this changed?

many Thanks,

jack

Don't use 'compress old files'. I remove the option from the Disk Cleanup
utility by going into the registry - HKLM, Software, Microsoft, Windows,
Current Version, Explorer, Volume Caches .....and removing the Compress Old
Files key there.

If you really want to use compression (which is rarely adviseable), you can
go to the properties of the folder(s) and do it there manually.
