disk cleanup

I am running Windows 2000 Professional which I purchased
separately. My computer came with the ME. I am having a
serious concern regarding disk cleanup. Mine has stopped
working. It starts with about 3 or 4 bars then it stops
scanning. What is wrong with my system? Could you please
help me. Thank you very much.
 
The msot common reason for this is that you have something
running that is altering the disks such as a virus scanner.
Try booting into safe mode and running it from there. also
check to see how much free space you have.
