Disk Cleanup Not Responding

Can anyone help me on this. I'm running Windows 2000 and
been trying to run Disk Cleanup. When I attempt to do
this I select the "C" drive and hit enter and nothing
happens. I've also tried doing this using the Command
line with the same results. Thanks.
 
Does Disk Cleanup start at all? I've seen a lot of issues where it hangs
due to corrupt temp files. To check if this is the case perform the
following:

Start\Run
Type %temp%
Delete the contents of the folder
Try rerunning Disk Cleanup
