This is very unimportant but I thought I'd ask ou of interest.

XP Home SP2
MS Internet Exploer v6 SP2

I joined the these discussion Groups a couple of days ago (and most useful
I've found it, too). When I tried to post a NEW question, I got a bleep. It
wasn't until later that I noticed I'd got the little No-Entry symbol in the
status bar, highlighting that the Pop-up Blocker had stopped a Pop-up page
from popping up (ie such as this one). OK. No probs. Turn the blocker off &
everything is fine.

But, with the blocker ON, I can REPLY to posts. Up pops a page just like
this. Why is this?

Thanks,

Probably because the webnews interface that you are using wants to pop
open a new window for the reply. Use a real NNTP (network news transfer
protocol) client instead. You probably already have Outlook Express but
there are several other available. Check with your ISP (Energis) to see
if they provide an NNTP server. Alternatively, and if you still want to
continue using the webnews interface, add the domain to the exclusion
list for your popup blocker.
