I want to know where I can download the discover software to create an
msi. I have searched and searched and I can't seem to find anything.

What do you mean with "discover software"? There are many tools available to
create .msi setups. A list of tools for developers can be found at
http://www.installsite.org/go/msidev.htm . A list of tools for system
administrators/repackagers can be found at
http://www.installsite.org/go/msirepack.htm .

There is a software that is called "Discover" and it is used to take a
before snapshot and then an after snapshot, and it creates an .msi from
the changes. I just need to know where to find it. I know it is out
there and I have used it, but I can't remember where I got it from.

As I understand, "discover" was part of the product called WinInstall ( see
ttp://www.appdeploy.com/articles/softdeploy-gpolicy.shtml ). It was from
Veritas, but now is offered at http://www.ondemandsoftware.com/PurchaseLE.asp
for only $49.95 , and at http://www.softpile.com/Utilities/Miscellaneous/Review_16745_index.html
for free.

Thank you very much. This is what I was looking for. It's funny how you
have to pay at one site, but after some searching, it's free.
