Disconnecting Mapped Drives

I have a Win2k Pro pc that has a mapped network drive, and when I try to
disconnect the network drive it gives me a message that reads as follow:
"The Network Connection Could Not Be Found", also the name of the mapped
drive use to be \\servername\sharename. Now it is named Network Drive, any
ideas???

That was the problem as you stated in your message.
The folder name wach changed from 'sharename' to 'Network
Drive'.
Change the name back to it's original, remove mapping,
then change the name again.
That should solve it.

Go to a command prompt and type

net use <enter>

What do you see?

To delete connections, type

net use * /del <enter>

when I perform a net user command, the drive doesn't show up even though under my computer the drive is still mapped but not active. I still tried to delete it using the Net User M: /d command --but I recieved a message that the drive could not be found. Crazy! Need more help

I recently discovered a situation like this. The problem was that the drive
letter was mapped as a different user. I think the solution was to run the
command promt as that user, and net use /del the drive from there.

Are you sure you typed in net use and not net user?
