Mapped network drives showing as disconnected

Need some help with a Windows 2000 Server network. Windows 2000 Pro clients
connecting and mapping drives, but all connections show as disconnected.
Any writes to the drives give an error, but the write occurs. Windows XP
Pro systems mapped connections are correct. They do not show as
disconnected.

Have tried different protocols and have done all updates on both the server
and the workstations. Nothing has worked yet.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
