Disconnected from internet every 2 hrs

Hello. I am getting very frustrated with this and I can not find the
problem. I keep getting disconnected from the internet every 2 hours. This
has been happening for a few weeks now. I noticed it after I installed the
Norton Firewall 2004, but cannot find the place where I need to go into to
change a setting. I have called my (dial-up) ISP and they said it was on my
end, not theirs. Can anyone help me with this? I have Win XP home edition
and also have Norton System Works 2004. If I need to post this in another
newsgroup, I would like to know the address so I can get this issue
resolved. Thank you all very much. I have learned a lot from just reading
all your posts over the past few months that I have been here. Paula S

check you settings here

In IE, Tools>Internet Options>Connections.
Highlight the connection and click Settings.
In Dial-up Settings click Advanced :-
"Disconnect when Connection may no longer be needed".

"Disconnect if idle for ... mins"
