Auto-disconnect from Internet

Can anyone help me make it so when I close my last IE session, my home PC
immediately auto-disconnects from the Internet?

I have broadband, but I'm paranoid about my kids using the internet without
some basic supervision, so I have it so connection to the internet needs the
network password put in manually. When the internet has been used and IE is
closed, I just want it to immediately disconnect.

I had a Windows 2000 box and it did this fine. I have recently bought an XP
box (MCE 2005) and I can't get it to do this. I have ticked the 'disconnect
when not needed', but it still doesn't work.

I have a 20 minute timeout, and that works OK. But I want it to disconnect
immediately on not being used. Any suggestions?

Cheers

You say you have a broadband connection. That means your computer is connected to the Internet all
the time the computer power is ON. Just because you are not surfing with IE does not mean your
connection is gone. I hope you have a good firewall, uptodate antispyware program and uptodate
antivirus program running. To truly disconnect, you have to power down your computer or your
broadband modem, or disconnect the cable. Software is not going to do this for you.

ZoneAlarm, the firewall, has a "switch" you can right click from the
program's menu in the system tray. It stops all internet activity. Not
automatic, though.
