disapppearing usb ports

help running xp wich runs fine but no USB ports or controller found in
device manager and when we try to find new hardware it wont find anything
any body any ideas please

You will need to install your chipset drivers for your motherboard.
What is the make and model of your motherboard/computer and I might be
able to help you with that

The drivers for your USB controller must be installed before you can use
them and before they will appear properly in Device Manager.
