Disapppearing Sound in desktop

Hello group
One of my desktop pc had lost it sound. I checked in the control panel
and I can't find any fault there
(The volume was full and it was not muted) . Also the sound icon that
usually is found in the bottom right of the desktop is gone...
I want to know what could be the reason and how could I sort it out...
Seldom have this fault in my experience.....

Check System Devices in your control panel. Note any yellow exclamations.
Note which sound driver is being used to carry sound by looking in Sounds
folder in Control Panel and Audio tab. Make sure another device has not
usurped original device. Sometimes when software that is sound related gets
recently installed it makes itself the default device.
Reinstall sound drivers.
