Disappearing Registry Editor

My registery editor does not stay remain on the screen
for more than 10 seconds and therefore i am unable to
edit or use it in any way. help

This behavior can be caused by a virus. One of three:

Try in Safe mode, pretty sure this is one of the viruses
listed..clever trick really!

Perhaps you are using a pop-up blocker. Disable it and try regedit again.
