I hope this is the right NG. Sometimes I create a shortcut to a web page on my desktop instead
of bookmarking it in the "Favorites" folder. The icon is usually something related to the
website, sometimes interesting and attractive, sometimes not. Later (maybe days, maybe weeks)
and for reasons entirely beyond me, those individual icons get replaced by the generic
"circle-e" icon of Internet Explorer. Actually, I think the same thing also happens with web
sites which are bookmarked in my Favorites folder.
Two questions: First, why or how do they just disappear and then reappear as a generic icon,
and second, is there any way that I can save those original icons to a file or a folder so that
I can retrieve them?
Thanks for any suggestions.
