I used Disk Cleanup, a Windows System Tool, to clean up
my desktop system. It offered to remove a directory which
I didn't recognise, and I stupidly accepted. I also
accepted the offer to shred, which meant that I couldn't
subsequently restore my system. The result was that I
lost all my fonts. I copied all the fonts from my laptop
and added them back to my Windows Fonts directory. This
restored normal English to my icons etc. Unfortunately,
everytime that I turn the PC on and off again I lose all
the fonts and have to recopy them. Incidentally, the
fonts disappeared soon after they were first loaded, but
my icons etc. retained the correct font until I rebooted.
Can anybody help?
