Hi,
I have a 60 GB hard drive installed to a Firewire case. For some reason, Win2k (SP4) loses
it. Then I get the message below;

Windows was unable to save all the data for the file\Device\HarddiskVolume10\$Mft. The
data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or
network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.

Why do I keep losing the Firewire connection?

I just removed the drive by using the shutdown option in the systray. I then pulled the
cable and reinserted. The drive came back.

While I was observing My Computer, it was displayed, then the above message reappeared and
I watch the drive letter disappear from My Computer.

Does the case have problems or is it Windows?

Warm Regards,
Lou

have you tried getting updated drivers from your firewire card
manufacturer?
