Using Backup with external Firewire HD problems

I cannot get the Backup program to backup to my Firewire drive. When I start
the backup it goes about half way through the process then errors out saying
the drive is full. I'm only trying to backup about 6 gig's of data to a 60
gig drive. Is there any switchs I need to set for it to work?

I currently am using Powerquest Datakeeper 5.0 for the purpose but would
rather use the windows backup program, since Symantec doesn't support it.

Techs;

XP 2500
640 meg Ram
W2K 2000 w/ all updates
Generic Firewire Card (TI OCHI Compliant)
External 60gig Firewire using Prolific PL3507 controller

Thanks

What file system do you use? FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB, and
NTBackup saves the entire backup as a single file. NTFS does not have this
limitation.
