Disabling Touchpad

I know I've seen this in other versions of Windows, but
I'm looking for a little help on disabling the touchpad
mouse on my laptop in Windows XP. Any assistance would be
greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Go to mouse properties in control panel. One of the panels (if you have a
synaptics touchpad it should be 'device settings') should provide you with
the option to disable the touchpad. Also, some bioses have an option to
disable it.

This is usually done in the laptop setup, not within Windows. Check the
documentation for your laptop.
