My
question is what effect would disabling the QoS have on
my network. It is a work computer with about 50 PC's. I
searched the knowledge base and did not quite understand
what it said.

Thanks

Dont disable it, set it to 0 and leave it enabled, you
will notice a difference. Our Outlook users constantly
were recieving the retrieving data from the exchange
server messages with this set to the default 20%.
Resetting it to 0 solved that issue.

I always remove it entirely and don't see any ill effects as a result
but I also get rid all other unused and unneeded networking components
because we're in a Novell NetWare environment and it helps speed up NW
server access to not have the extra goodies floating around.

Probably no noticeable effect at all. It is a means of ensuring that
applications that are 'QoS aware' can get a guaranteed percent of the
bandwidth. But if none are running it does *not* as sometimes suggested
result in reduced bandwidth. However if you do not use QoS
applications, there is not any real point in having it enabled
