I am running a single home computer connected by always-on cable connection.
(No login ). Right clicking on my lan connection and then choosing
'properties' gives this: "this connection uses the following items: QoS
Packet Scheduler, and Internet Protocol TCP/IP. Is it safe to uninstall
QoS, since I do not have a home network?

Probably, but why tempt the Gods? If things are working fine, leave them
alone. Windows will not "run" the network if its not needed, so why bother?

Any advice is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.
