Is there a setting I can apply to selected remote desktop users which
prevents them excising shutdown or reboot from menu. (WinXP Pro clients
Win2003 Host.)

TIA

Ian, You should be able to accomplish this through group policy. Put all the users you want to deny shutdown into one group. You can then set the permissions so that group can't exercise shutdown of your remote servers. I've had the same problem and it worked wonderfully for us. It should work even better with Server 2003. Good luck.

Sorry I didn't think of this the first time. It would be easier to simply set permissions so that only the Admin could shutdown the server. (Hopefully your users aren't Admins) Good day

Tks Peter

Great suggestion.
