Disabling pop-ups on taskbar

I am trying to figure out how to disable the pop-ups for all
buttons/icons/pictures/thoughts (sorry, got carried away) in the taskbar. I
have already unchecked the "show pop-up description for folder and desktop
items" box at: Control Panel|Appearance &Themes|Folder Options|View. While
this stops those annoying flies in Windows Explorer, I still get them on my
desktop. Anyone offer any help? I am using Windows XP Professional at work
(and ya, we have an IS Dept. that may be a tad bit over-protective). IS has
not replied to any of my emails for help.

Thank you Thomas. Seems like the site would help if I was working at home,
but since it's at work, I won't be able to use it when I get back. Checking
it out at home, though, i'd think it would work.
