Hi!
Click Start->Settings ->Control Panel
Click Administrative Tools
Click Services
Double click Services Scroll
down and highlight "Messenger"
Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties.
Click the STOP button.
Select Disable or Manual in the Startup Type scroll bar
Click OK

Hi Stephen,

This utility uninstalls/disables Messenger from OE as well and corrects the
delay it causes with the proper registry edits needed. You are posting via

Which has nothing to do with "windows messenger", and will not disable
"windows messenger" as the OP requested.
