Any ideas on to disable scandisk or whatever they named
it nowafter aa bad or locked shutdown as I hate
scandiskand refuse any part of it
Anyway that is no longer in the msconfig under the
selective startup options anymore

Out of interest, why do you hate scnadisk (or in Windows XP, chkdsk)? It's
a necessary part of Windows and ifyou don't use it to scan your disk
regularly (especially after you have a bad shutdown) then you run the risk
of the disk corrupting.
