Scandisk at startup after bad shutdown is here to stay? win2000

I've been plague by scandisk at every startup. Scandisk at
startup takes 3 hours to scan 120G. After finishing
scandisk, I shutdown and restart and scandisk runs again. I
like to disable this feature so I don't have to stay around to
press "skip scandisk" at every bootup. How do I disable
this feature?

Thanks

I realize you meant checkdisk and not scandisk. Try this message board

there are many others like it online.

Solved!

When Googling for checkdisk instread of scandisk, here's
what I did. I'd ran regedt32 and deleted (autocheck
autochk*) in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\
Current Control Set\Control\Session Manager\Boot Execute

Thanks both for the life-saving correction and links.
