If I highlight an avi, mpg, etc., within a folder a little preview
appears on the left side......How do I disable this as it's crashing
explorer when I try to work on the file by renaming etc.............Or
is there a reason why it's crashing? Appears to mostly happen on certain
DivX avi's or all sometimes......I have all the proper codecs installed
& they're not corrupt............

Thanks for any help...........

You can disable it by opening explorer and going to

tools
folder options
general tab
Web View section
use windows classic folders
click OK

as to why it's crashing my guess would be a bad codec maybe, try
uninstalling all video software except windows media player.

I thought maybe there was another way cause I tried that already and
don't like the view......I checked all the folder options earlier and
thought maybe it was as simple as "do not preview clips" or
something...... Bugger, thanks for the suggestion & time though.....I've
looked in to my codecs and have the latest DivX, appears to be fine it's
just this preview crap.....Doesn't happen all the time though.....

Thanks Steve, preciate the time...........
