disable mouse pointer?

can someone help, when I use Window XP, the mouse crusor will automatically
jump to where-ever the mouse is pointing at. So often, when I type on line
1, it will suddenly jump to, say, line 8, where the mouse is pointing at.
Anyway to disable this annoying "automatic" function?
