disable Microsoft Shared Fax Client

I am trying to disable/uninstall the Microsoft Shared Fax Client on my
computer for upgrading purposes. I am trying to do so because my computer
stated that I had to do so in order to upgrade my computer from Windows ME to
XP. Can you help me figure out how to do this? The Windows XP setup
software recommended that I go to the add/remove function in the control
panel to do so, but I don't know what to remove in this case. Any ideas?

1. Open up My Computer.
2. Go to Tools > Folder Options.
3. Put a check in "Show hidden files and folders".
4. Click on Start, then Run.
5. Type in: CMD.
6. Type in: cd\ , then hit enter
7. Type in: dir fxsclnt.exe /s
[Remember what directory you found the file in]
8. Type in Exit.
9. Double click on My Computer.
10. Right-click on the C: drive and click on Explorer.
11. Find the directory that housed the fxsclnt.exe.
12. Delete the file and restart.

Now, you should be able to upgrade to Windows XP.
