Upgrade from W98 hangs up for non-existant MS Shared Fax Client

I'm trying to complete a reinstall of an upgrade from W98 to XP Home and I
keep getting a message indicating that the installation is being blocked by a
"Microsoft Shared Fax Client". It tells me to go into Control Panel, go to
Add/Delete Programs and delete the Shared Fax Client. Only problem is that
there is no such thing in the listing of installed programs in the Add/Delete
Programs folder. I have tried everything I can think of at this point.
Searched the Registry for anything labeled "fax". Can't find anything.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
