Disable auto-login

I've got a strange situation with one XP pro installation. This is a
fresh install, fully updated, blahX3...

Somehow the system thinks I set it up to auto-login to the administrator
account (I did not) and initially the administrator account had a blank
password and was in fact auto-logging in until I gave the admin acct a
real password. Now every time it restarts it gives a login error because
it's still trying to auto-login with a blank password. After the error
is cleard I can login normally.

What reg keys do I need to edit or other steps shall I take to eliminate
this?

If it matters this is an OEM version of XP that appears to be a volume
licensed CD as it never asked for the key code nor to be activated.

TIA

It also never prompted to enter in other users as have other OEM
installations I've done.

Nevermind, I finally found KB 315231. It's all in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

I am going to have words with this OEM supplier about the XP Pro OEM CDs
they provide.

-or-
Click Start, Run and type "control userpasswords2", and click Ok. Enable "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" option, and click Ok.

Thanks Ramesh, I'll try to remember that one. I've already got it fixed
anyway by editing the registry. Does that command change the three
registry entries (AutoAdminLogin, DefaultUsername, DefaultPassword) in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
?

'AutoAdminLogin' will be set to "0" and 'DefaultPassword' will be cleared. 'DefaultUserName' is intact, but that does not cause any problems.

In addition:

Auto-login using Control Userpasswords2 or TweakUi does *NOT* create the DefaultPassword key here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon]
