DirextX messed up but I can't reinstall

Hi,

first excuse my bad english.
Second, please help me with my messed up directx.

If I try to start a game an error message appears, some 3d3...dll is
missing. Dxdiag misses a lot of files, direct draw test fails and so on. So
it seems my directx 9.c installation is crap. But if i try to reinstall it
the setup says always "blablabla - ready" without copying anything. I tried a
webupdate, downloaded the complete directx software an tried some managing or
developer version to install. Nothing worked. So, how get I XP oder DirectX
itself noticed that DirectX is missing?

I have Windows XP Pro with all Updates and SP installed, drivers are all up
to date and directx was 9c.

Thanks for any suggestions,

M. Peters

How To Repair Windows:
Unplug from your Internet connection, and then repair Windows:

Afterwards, boot up your system, turn on your XP Internet Firewall,
plug back into your Internet connection and install all Critical and
