Directx9 not compatible with my xp????

Hi everyone, I'm having a really big problem with getting
medal of honor started on my comuter, the game starts
fine but when it goes to load an actual mission it kicks
me out of the game completely, and I get an Opengl
problem screen, but I think I can fix that problem by
installing directx9 onto my system, now heres the problem
when I try to install directx9.0 on my system I get an
error message saying "This version of directx is not
compatible with the version of windows currently
installed". ?????? I'm lost here... no idea whats going
on. again I'm using Xp home and I'm trying to install
directx9.0 (and its says at the install
screen "Directx9.0 for windows XP" weird!!) If anyone
could be of any assistance you would be the KING in book.

This has been posted many times, and the source is the
microsoft.public.directx.misc newsgroup, which supports DirectX. This
newsgroup supports games on Windows XP.

I would suggest trying this:

"This is a common problem. You can try the workaround below. If they do
not work, please send %windir%\directx.log.

1) Make sure your cryptography services are enabled. To do this, go to my
computer | manage | services and applications | services. Then go to
cryptography services properties and make sure the service is started and
startup type is set to automatic.
2) If you are running Windows on a FAT32 drive, run scandisk.
3) Try the resolution steps in

Hi,

You need to update your video drivers most likely more than
you need to update your DirectX to overcome OpenGL errors.
(OpenGL is a more or less a competitive technology to DirectX).

Now, as to why you are getting that DirectX installation error:
You possibly disabled the Cryptography service by "tweaking"
XP using well intended but bad advice from a site or magazine.

1. Click Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services
Scroll down to "Cryptographic Services", double click it and
change Startup type to: Automatic and click the "Start" button.

2. If the problem persists, go to c:\windows\system32 and rename
the catroot2 directory to catrootold. Catroot2 might be too full.

3. Save and then Open the "DX9 Logo Error" patch on Line 189
for WinXP at: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

4. Repairing Windows is our final option. Boot from your Windows
CD (you may have to press F12 while starting up, or change the
bootup order in your BIOS) and then follow the instructions at:
