DirectX causes 100% CPU load

Hi!

Whenever I try and run a directx related application, or
run dxdiag to check directx, my cpu goes true the "roof"
and are at 100% load.

When I close Dxdiag, CPU load falls down to about 0...

I have the latest version of Directx, and every update
for windows xp professional..

Please help!

Do you also have the latest version of your video drivers to go with
that version?
